Prizewinners can send me an e-mail how they want to receive their money or alternatively donate it (partly) to the "PerlBoy's F1 Game".

Suggestions are welcome too. Like what to improve for next year. Some suggestions for improvements/changes I have in mind for next years game:

[2002/10/02] - [Allmost the End]
I've just updated the results of the US GP. It does surprice me that still players go up and down several places allthough most drivers finish races. Player number 1 to 6 will most likely not change anymore, although.... number 6 is pretty close to number 7 and so are number 2 and 3. It is a pitty Ferrari is very dominant this year and tricks are made like giving a number 1 position away by Herr Michael to Rubens. All this is not what real Formula One fans are waiting for. I still enjoy looking at it though and there will be most likely a F1 Game 2003 (more news will follow).

[2002/08/20] - [M*E*G*A Score (2)]
Seems the new record on scoring is 70,795,000 vEuro's. And I scored about the minimum: 12,760,000. A good lesson: Never shout too loud before the game is over....

[2002/07/24] - [ICQ-status]
I've reported the fault to ICQ that their ICQ status icons are not working. This seems to be a temporary issue. See their reponse to me:

Hello,
Thank you for taking the time to write to us.

We appreciate your interest in the ICQ Status Indicators and are happy to
learn that this feature has been a great success among the ICQ community.
We are currently working on the Status Indicators feature to provide better
service to ICQ users. During this period, the Status Indicators will not be
operational.

We apologize for the inconvenience and hope that we will soon be able to
make this feature available once again for our users.

Thank you for your patience.

Thank you.

[2002/07/24] - [M*E*G*A Score]
Sorry people, I scored the maximum result (63,000,000 vEuro's) so far in the game. For the curious people among you, my team was: Juan Pablo Montoya, Ralf Schumacher, Kimi Raikkonen, Jenson Button and Mark Webber. Now I have the difficulty to figure out how to spend the 50,750,000 vEuro's which are in my vAccount ;-).

[2002/07/21] - [Tip]
When you want to change your team in the future it might be worthfull to look at online betting websites and check their betting rates. The lower the rate, the higher the change a driver will win. At least that is what I make out of them. A few of them are:

[2002/07/21] - [Info]
Starting with the previous race, the gameresults will be updated when Tag Heuer (the official timekeeper of F1) updates their Official GP Data page. The PDF-file they publish is the input for my game.

[2002/06/01] - [Announcement]
The good 'old' Ranking-page is back. What a relief! I don't expect more stuff for the next coming month as I will be on vacation from June 7th to June 10th and June 12th for 3 weeks. I've planned to update the scoring of race 8 (Montreal GP) on June 11th. I'll update the website for race 9 (Nurnbergring) when I come back in the weekend of June 29th.

[2002/05/30] - [Announcement]
The driver statistics are back.

[2002/05/28] - [Notice]
Trulli seems to be off the hook of loosing his points of the Monaco GP. The electronic unit on the Italian's Renault passed an inspection by the FIA on Tuesday morning. Gameranking updates to be expected tonight.

[2002/05/28] - [Notice]
It has been a while ago I've put some comments on the website (because of various reasons) and today is a good day I think. Today the database has been upgraded to PostgreSQL 7.2. So far everything is running smoothly and has the backup loaded properly. Hopefully this version has a couple of bugfixes I ran into in the past... We'll see!

[2002/04/05] - [Correction]
Hopefully I manage to automate all updates pretty soon, because it is basicly too complex to do all updates manually. This time the Top10 bonusses were not paid out (thanks Paul for reporting). This has now been corrected. This has obviously delayed to convert old modules (ranking, view other teams, driver stats etc.) again....

[2002/04/02] - [Notification]
This must be a year of bad luck... I've been ill about the whole easterweekend. Darn! It was such nice weather! Gameresults can be expected within a day (or two).

[2002/03/24] - [Race Results Correction]
Although I doublechecked the raceresults, it happened that I made an error. I copied the raceresults from race 1 into race 2 and forgot to update and verify the fastest lap. Not Kimi Raikkonen made the fastest racelap in race 2 but Juan Pablo Montoya did (thanks for letting me know Hans). All players who have or had Raikkonen or Montoya in their team have received an update in their vAccount and balance. Sorry for the inconvenience. (Please check your vAccount. When the amount is below zero, your cheapest(s) drivers will be sold at the next race)

[2002/03/22] - [First Game Results]
Sorry for the 4 day delay of the results. I've been hit by a few bugs in either my code or the database. I've tried to make the database this year as consistent and as logical as possible by building rules directly in the database. This is however increasing the complexity and slowing down the development dramaticly. During the next races I will restore all functionality from last year and build more. Anyway the results are here. Please verify them and send me an e-mail (before sunday morning (I will be away from monday to saturday next week).

[2002/03/04] - [Info]
During the race and the time to calculate new ranking etc. depending on the raceresults the ability to change your team has been locked out. So if you are a new player, don't worry. You will have plenty of time to create or modify your team. However, because the first raceresults are going to be removed from the game, I have to hack some code in the website in order to make this work. This coding and update should take a couple of days. In the meanwhile I see new people joining the game which is good because basicly nothing has changed and everybody has still the same chance to win!

[2002/03/01] - [Postpone]
Because of the servercrash I couldn't code the last required modules for the game and I have to postpone the start of the game to race 2. This is more fair to all players and hopefully I can sort out by then where to host the website. The first collectable 'Daily Return Price' is also postponed to the second racedate.

[2002/03/01] - [FAULTY HARDDISK]
The gamesite has been migrated to a new server because the original server went down because of a harddisk failure. Unfortunatly some users lost their team and/or their account. Also not a full backup could be recovered.

[2002/02/28] - [Daily Return Price]
The first collectable 'Daily Return Price' will be set to 100,000 vEuros. This is to compensate players who haven't read the rules thoroughly and have lost already money doing lots of sell/buy driver transactions.

[2002/02/28] - [Redrawel]

I (Neal's Racing Team 2002) will redraw myself from the winnerslist. I will continue playing the game but in case I become a winner, I will remove me from that list. I stay playing because it is handy for me to test the website.

[2002/02/25] - [Start of Race Season 2002]

The game has been improved in several ways. Before you start pressing buttons for buying and selling drivers wether you are new to this game or belong to the 'die-hard' players, please view the changed 'Game rules'. There are not many rules (changes) but still wise to read them.

I hope you will enjoy this game and the raceseason and I wish you all the best and a nice competition,
